17U – Head Coach Emmanuel Denguessi
We are incredibly excited to welcome Emmanuel Denguessi as our 17U Head Coach.
Emmanuel brings a wealth of high-level playing, coaching and leadership experience to the gym. Originally from Cameroon, Emmanuel represented the Cameroonian National Volleyball Team in international competition before coming to Canada to continue his volleyball career. As a player, he competed at the post-secondary level in Canada and was part of a CCAA National Championship-winning team. He also competed as a setter at a high level, including in the Vancouver Super League.
His coaching resume is equally impressive. Emmanuel served as the Head Coach of the Capilano University men’s volleyball program, where he focused on building a culture of professionalism, leadership and excellence both on and off the court. He was recognized as a PACWEST Men’s Volleyball Coach of the Year, and under his leadership, Capilano developed into a highly competitive program.
But what makes Emmanuel such a special coach is the perspective he brings to the athletes he works with. His volleyball journey has taken him from Cameroon to Canada, from national-team competition to university volleyball, and from player to coach and mentor. He understands what it takes to develop as an athlete—and the importance of using sport to develop confidence, character and leadership along the way.
- International player
- Cameroonian National Team
- CCAA National Champion
- PACWEST Coach of the Year
- Former Capilano University Head Coach
- High-level setter & Vancouver Super League player
- Educator, mentor & leader
This is a coach you are going to want to learn from!
We are thrilled to have Emmanuel bring his experience, energy and passion for volleyball into our gym!
