Tryout Process

We strive to make the tryout process an exciting and positive experience for all athletes. Our goal is to identify players who show potential, passion, and a commitment to growing their skills. Whether you’re an experienced player or just starting your volleyball journey, our tryouts provide a fair and comprehensive evaluation for placement on a team that best matches your abilities.

Who Can Try Out?

Our tryouts are open to girls of various age groups, ranging from U12 to U18. We welcome players with different levels of experience, from beginners who want to develop foundational skills to advanced athletes seeking high-level competition.

Registration

Before attending the tryout sessions, all athletes must register online through our Tryout Registration Page. This helps us ensure a smooth and organized process. Registration will include a nominal tryout fee, which covers the cost of court time, equipment, and evaluators. Please make sure to complete registration prior to the tryout date, as walk-ins may not be accepted.

What to Expect at Tryouts

During tryouts, athletes will be assessed on a variety of skills and traits including:

  • Technical Skills: Serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and defence.
  • Game Sense: Understanding of volleyball strategies, positioning, and decision-making.
  • Athleticism: Speed, agility, jumping ability, and overall physical fitness.
  • Attitude & Effort: Coaches will be looking for players who demonstrate a positive attitude, work ethic, and coachability.

Each tryout will typically involve drills, individual assessments, and scrimmage play to provide a comprehensive evaluation of each player’s abilities. We aim to make tryouts challenging but supportive, helping athletes feel comfortable while they showcase their talent.

Multiple Sessions

To ensure a thorough evaluation, our tryout process often includes multiple sessions. This allows our coaches to see how players progress and respond over time. We highly recommend attending all tryout sessions for your age group to give yourself the best chance of being placed on a team that fits your skill level.

Team Placement

Following the tryouts, players will be placed on teams that best suit their abilities and developmental needs. We offer a variety of teams at different skill levels to ensure each athlete has a season of growth, competition, and enjoyment. Team placement will be communicated via email within a week of the final tryout session.

What to Bring

  • Proper volleyball gear (court shoes, knee pads)
  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable athletic clothing
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

After the Tryout

Once team selections are made, successful athletes will receive an invitation to join the team, along with information regarding the upcoming season, practice schedules, and fees. We will also provide information for those who may not be placed on a team, including feedback and recommendations for further skill development.
